Terms
Updated 1 November 2026
1. Who we are
DrumChart is made and run by Adam Hockenhull, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, trading as DrumChart. "We" and "us" in these terms means Adam.
Email [email protected]
Post: Flat 31, Garden Court, 63 Holden Road, London N12 7DG, United Kingdom
2. Who sells it to you
On the website, our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders on the website. It takes the payment, charges the right tax, sends your receipt, and handles billing questions and refunds. Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the purchase as well as these terms. We supply DrumChart itself, and help with anything about how it works.
In the iPad and Mac apps, DrumChart is bought through Apple's App Store, and Apple's terms for App Store purchases apply as well as these.
3. The free trial
- You sign in with your email address. There is no password: we email you a code.
- The 7 days start the first time you make a new chart or change one. Reading, playing, practising and exporting charts never start them, and stay free after the trial ends. Signing in does not start them.
- No card is needed for the trial, and nothing is ever charged automatically. When the 7 days are up, the trial just ends.
- After it ends, your charts stay open to read, play, practise and export as PDFs. Making new charts and changing charts stop until you buy.
- One trial per person. A trial already used on a browser or an email address does not start again with a new email address.
4. The price
£29.99, once, VAT included. There is no subscription. You pay the price shown at checkout, which Paddle or Apple may show in your own currency.
5. What you get
- DrumChart unlocked for good on the account you bought it with: on the website, and on any device where you sign in to that account.
- Bought on the website, DrumChart is also unlocked in the iPad and Mac apps when they come out, once you sign in to them with the same account.
- Every update to the current version of DrumChart, at no extra cost.
- If we ever sell a major new version separately, the version you bought keeps working, and buying the new one is up to you.
- Bought in the apps, DrumChart is unlocked in the iPad and Mac apps on that Apple ID, and on the account you were signed in to when you bought.
6. Your charts and recordings
- The charts you make are yours. We claim no rights in them.
- Recordings you open in DrumChart stay on your device. They are never uploaded to us.
- You need the right to use any recording you open. If you share or publish a chart, the song's owner may need to give permission.
- When you are signed in, your charts and setlists are stored on our servers so they reach your other devices. Keep a backup of your own too: Back up everything in the ≡ menu saves one as a file.
- When you share a setlist, we store its charts on our servers and show them to the people who join through your link. You let us do that only to run DrumChart. Recordings are never shared through DrumChart.
- Only share charts you have the right to share. A chart of someone else's song can carry their copyright.
- Share links are for the people you teach or play with. Don't post a link to charts of other people's songs where anyone can open it.
- If you think a shared chart breaks your rights, see section 7.
- If you are under 13, a parent or guardian signs in for you with their own email address.
- Charts shared with you are read only, and free to read, play and practise. When the person who shared them removes you or stops sharing, they go from your devices.
7. Reporting a shared chart
- If a chart shared through DrumChart breaks your copyright, email [email protected], or write to Adam Hockenhull at the address in section 1.
- Tell us: the song, and the chart or the share link. Your name, address and email. That you own the rights or act for the owner. That you believe in good faith the chart is not allowed. That what you've told us is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you can act for the owner. Sign it; typing your name is fine.
- We reply within two working days. If the report holds up, we take the chart down and email the person who shared it to say which chart and why.
- If your chart was taken down and you think that's a mistake, reply to that email and say why. We send your reply to the person who reported it. Unless they tell us within 14 days that they have gone to court, we put the chart back.
- We keep a record of every report. After two reports that hold up against one account, we turn off its sharing. After a third, we may close the account.
8. Using DrumChart fairly
DrumChart is for you to use. Don't share your account, resell it, copy the app, get round the trial or the lock, or try to break, attack or overload the service. We may suspend or close an account that does.
9. If something goes wrong
- Under UK law, digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If DrumChart is not, you can ask us to fix it, and if we can't, for some or all of your money back. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.
- We work to keep DrumChart running and to fix problems fast. We can't promise it will never have a bug, or that the website will never be down for a while.
- We are not responsible for losses we could not have foreseen, or for lost income or business. If you use DrumChart for paid work, our responsibility for any loss is limited to what you paid for DrumChart.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
10. Ending
- You can stop using DrumChart at any time, and delete your account in Settings. That deletes the charts stored on our servers at once. Charts on your devices stay there.
- When an account is deleted we keep the date its trial started and any purchase, with its email address. If you sign up again with that email, they come back. See the privacy notice.
- If we ever stop running DrumChart, we will tell you at least 30 days ahead, so you can export your charts.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one in place when you bought. If a change affects what you bought, we will email you first.
12. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live outside the UK, you keep the rights your own country's consumer law gives you.
13. Questions
Email [email protected]. For a payment made on the website, you can also find your order at paddle.net.
